Kelsey Grammer, ex-wife close to settling divorce

It’s been in the headlines for years now. Kelsey Grammer’s divorce from his ex-wife Camille has been final for many months, but now a financial settlement is said to be imminent too.

The actor, who played Frasier Crane on “Cheers” and its successful spinoff “Frasier” for a total of 20 years, married Camille in 1997. After having two children, the pair officially was divorced in February, after which Grammer married someone else. But their dispute over who would get custody of their children lingered, as did their financial settlement.

Surprisingly, despite Grammer’s fortunes — by the end of “Frasier” he was making a reported $1.6 million per episode — the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. That would theoretically allow his ex-wife to collect half of his money.

Details of a possible settlement were not disclosed. According to the Huffington Post, a friend of the actor says he is not concerned about losing money, but is more concerned about protecting the welfare of his children.

The ex-couple owned a number of homes together. Camille is apparently in the process of trying to sell their ski home in Colorado for several million dollars.

The divorce has not been a pretty one in the press. Grammer and his ex-wife, one of the stars of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” have traded accusations and insults for several months.

Grammer almost immediately married his new 29-year-old bride once the divorce was final earlier this year.
