Law enforcement agencies across the state have ramped up efforts to crack down on drunk driving. These initiatives can make DUI defense difficult, but those who have been charged still have options at their disposal.

CDOT’s announcement

The Colorado Department of Transportation recently announced that police departments across the state will be cracking down on drunk drivers. So far this year, 34 people have been killed in DUI crashes in Colorado. During a recent DUI enforcement period over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, reports said DUI arrests increased substantially from the same period last year.

Be responsible

The Chief of the Colorado State Patrol said he expects more drivers on roadways across the state as warmer weather arrives. Police forces throughout Colorado will be on high alert for reckless and drunk drivers. The CSP is urging drivers to be responsible and never get behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
