Third time wasn’t the charm, it seems. Actor Dennis Quaid’s third wife, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, has filed for divorce, apparently citing a “conflict of personalities” and an “insupportable marriage,” according to various news sources.

The couple has been married since 2004, and they have 4-year-old Twins. Quaid was previously married to actress P.J. Soles, and then to Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. He and Ryan have a child together.

According to the Toronto Sun, Quaid wants his wife to get “nothing” in the divorce, but she is apparently pushing for a fair division of their assets, as well as spousal support and attorney fees.

The couple is sharing custody of the twins, who were the subject of medical lawsuits after they were born. The Quaids accused hospital personnel of overmedicating the babies, giving them an overdose of Heparin. Both have since recovered. Under a joint custody order, neither parent is allowed to take the children out of school or out of the state without a judge’s order or a joint agreement.

Buffington-Quaid will reportedly get possession of their residence, while Quaid gets a condo and a Cadillac. They were apparently ordered not to say anything vulgar or indecent to each other.

Quaid, best known for films such as “The Day After Tomorrow,” married Buffington-Quaid at a small ceremony on his 500-acre Montana ranch on July 4, 2004. Buffington-Quaid’s divorce petition all but ends the possibility that they could ever get back together, noting that circumstances would prevent a reconciliation.
