‘Terminator’ star not immune from paying child support

Most people would assume that film actors would not have a problem supplying money to support their children. But that’s not always the case. Actor Edward Furlong, for example, who starred in “Terminator 2” among other films, has apparently been accused of failing to make child support payments for the second time in a year.

According to reports, the actor only made just over $3,200 in child support payments since the end of last year. A judge in Los Angeles Superior Court recently ordered him to pay $15,000 in back child support payments.

The actor, who appeared in the film “The Green Hornet” this year and has several other films in development, told a judge in January that he was “completely broke,” according to reports, and was unable to make payments for his 5-year-old son.

He’s had other legal troubles. He apparently has a history of drug problems and has had other brushes with the law. The 34-year-old actor’s ex-wife, also an actor, filed a temporary restraining order last year after Furlong allegedly threatened her new boyfriend.

The couple was married in 2006 but divorced three years later, after which she filed for custody of their son.

Furlong had originally been asked to pay more than the $15,000 now being sought, but also apparently owes another $3,000 for penalties and interest on missed child support payments.

The actor rose to fame as a teenager as John Connor in the second “Terminator” film opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
