It sounds like Camille Grammer, whom Denver resident might know from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has made out pretty well in her divorce from actor Kelsey Grammer, of “Frasier” and “Cheers” fame.
TMZ (which, admittedly, is not the most reliable of sources) has reported that Grammer will get about $30 million in the divorce settlement. That’s roughly 50 percent of the total assets she and Kelsey Grammer are believed to have shared when they were married.
What’s interesting about the Grammers’ fortunes is that reportedly, Kelsey Grammer was nearly broke when he married Camille in 1996. Although he was earning lots of money thanks to “Frasier” and “Cheers,” he was said to be losing lots of money to a drug habit and poor financial choices. Supposedly, Camille was the one to set him back on the straight and narrow and whip his finances into shape.
Camille Grammer filed for divorce on July 1, 2010, after she and Kelsey Grammer had been married for 13 years. Her separation from Kelsey Grammer played out in the tabloids in very unsavory fashion.
We want to stress, though, that not every divorce is quite as acrimonious as the Grammers’. Divorcing does take a toll on one’s emotions, but with the help of the proper attorney, it is more than possible to be civil and calm about the whole process.
Kelsey Grammer has since remarried and Camille Grammer has moved on to a new relationship.
